Types of Tires
Generally, cushion tires are solid tires which have no tread pattern. They are mostly designed to be utilized on solid and smooth surfaces, usually indoors. There are tread patterns available however, which are more suitable for different surface environments. The cushion tires are common on smooth warehouse floors and in similar applications.

On the other hand, pneumatic tires need air and have been specifically made for outdoor use on uneven ground and loose surfaces. Pneumatic truck tires have higher ground clearance also. This raises the forklift's center of gravity and really reduces its rated lift capacity. More often than not, pneumatic tires are utilized in rough terrain surroundings because of their ability to navigate uneven surfaces in a smoother manner. A lot of construction sites and mining or agricultural applications rely on these tires so as to make certain the equipment can travel as carefully and safe as possible.

Lift Capacity and Lift Height
In order to determine the capacity of the vehicle needed, it is vital to know the maximum dimensions and weight of the loads you will be handling. Additionally, you should know the maximum fork height required so as to stack or rack the loads. These factors, the load size and the lifting height, really affect the truck's lifting capacity. A larger size load can move the vehicle's center of gravity and change the load combination. This reduces the lifting capacity of the equipment as well as affects the height and the load being lifted. Using different kinds of attachments could also affect the overall capacity of the truck.

Mast Options
On the market today are several different options of forklift masts. These consist of: single, double, triple and quad masts. The number indicated the amount of sections on the mast. In a variety of circumstances, you will not be required to make any choices because the lift height would dictate the type of mast you would get, although, in trucks with very high lift heights, you could have an option.
